The detector group is working in the field of gaseous detectors, scintillation detectors with SiPM readout, radiation monitors for space science applications and design and construction of passive detector components, prototypes and detector mechanics. This work in embedded in the particle physics projects of the Laboratory for Particle Physics and there is a close cooperation with the group Muon Physics and the group Electronics for Measuring Systems. Furthermore the group is operating the Proton Irradiation Facility (PIF) and the Electron Monochromator.
