We are interested to understand the physical chemistry of processes occurring at solid surfaces immersed in liquid environment such as those encountered in heterogeneous catalysts used for liquid phase reactions. We are well equipped to study adsorption processes and reaction mechanisms using in situ/operando spectroscopy and diffraction methods and cooperate with partner research groups for the catalytic measurements.
Phenomena of interest range from effect of solvent nature to reduction/oxidation to selective blockage of sites (by CO, pyridine...). Inspired by the approach exploited to obtain structure-activity relationships in the gas phase reactions, we also use transient experiments to increase the sensitivity of the methods to reactive species beyond what is currently possible.
