Award by NPSS

The IEEE Nuclear Plasma Science Society has recently awarded Dr. Paolo Craievich, leader of the group «RF-system 2» in GFA, with the Particle Accelerator Science Technology award for his exceptional contributions to accelerator science and technology. The ceremony of this prestigious award took place beginning of September during the North American Particle Accelerator Conference hosted by the Michigan State University (https://www.frib.msu.edu/events/2019/napac19/awards.html). During his career Paolo Craievich has provided important contributions to accelerator science and technology of electron linacs, in particular RF transverse deflection structures, beam manipulation with self-induced fields and high-brightness photoinjector and their application to advanced accelerators and light sources.  Paolo Craievich holds at PSI a key interfacing role between RF and the beam-dynamics. It is in this role and within international collaborations that he distinguished himself with pioneering contributions to the application of  wake fields for the passive manipulation of electron beams.
