Phoenix has seen first light in autumn 2009 and became operational in the second half of 2010. Since then the beamline was dedicated to X-ray absorption spectroscopy with focus on materials relevant for environmental sciences and energy research. We have a special interest in studying phase transitions in atmospheric science and nucleation processes in liquid environments.
