Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of passenger and freight transport is performed to provide state-of-the-art decision support to the Swiss administration as well as companies and individuals. The LCA builds upon our passenger car LCA tool “carculator”, which is going to be extended by further vehicles: bicycles, motorbikes, buses, and trucks, which are all modeled with the entire portfolio of drivetrains and fuels – petrol, diesel, (bio-)gas, electricity, and hydrogen. For each of these vehicle types, different size classes and emission categories as well as powertrain configurations are included. Both ecoinvent v3.7.1 and the FOEN’s LCI database will be used as source of background inventory data. The new process inventory data will be fed into FOEN’s LCI database and will be used for an update of the mobitool, which provides decision support in the context of the environmental burdens companies and individuals cause by their mobility.
