Modelling frequencies and expected maximum consequences of catastrophic events in Switzerland based on historical observations (MODCAT-CH)

In this project an analytical approach is developed and implemented to evaluate the frequencies and associated consequences of selected hazard scenarios for Switzerland based on historical data. In the first project phase the methodology is developed and adapted to the specific needs of the Federal Office for Civil Protection (FOCP). In the second phase it is applied to specific hazard scenarios that are relevant for the catastrophe management in Switzerland.
