The Instrument Electronic and Controls Group is a part of the Laboratory for Neutron and Muon Instrumentation (LIN), Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), PSI Center for Neutron and Muon Sciences (CNM).
Our team of technicians, electrical engineers and software engineers develop and operate electronic hardware and software systems for SINQ/SµS scientific instruments in collaboration with other technician groups, instrument scientists, users and external facilities @ PSI.
From a single source, we offer an efficient collaboration for instrument development within the topics of electronic design, electrical engineering, electrical planning, coordination of electrical installation, motion engineering, plc programming, software architecture, software development, software programming, software integration and scientific computing. We also support our instrument users during operation.
Outside LIN, there is a strong collaboration together with LTP electronics for measuring systems group and Detectors, Irradiation and Applied Particle Physics group for the support of dedicated particle detectors and detector electronics.
