Brigitte Decrausaz receives DECTRIS Award of Best Master's Thesis in Experimental Physics at UZH

The master thesis of Brigitte Decrausaz was awarded the annual DECTRIS Award for the best Master’s thesis in experimental physics at the University of Zürich. Brigitte carried out her master thesis work in the group of Prof. Johan Chang at UZH, in close collaboration with Dr. Daniel Mazzone and Dr. Jakob Lass at LNS. The prize committee mentioned that the thesis stood out both for the quality of its writing, as well as for the execution of the experimental work and analysis of the results, adding that not only Brigitte carried out quality experiments in leading facilities in Switzerland and France, but also derived a useful model from the acquired data to reproduce and predict results that pave the way for future investigation.

Brigitte Decrausaz pursues her journey in experimental physics using neutron scattering and other bulk measurement techniques to study frustrated magnets at LNS, and enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Basel. The LNS congratulates Brigitte for her early-carreer achievement and wishes her continuous success throughout her PhD work at PSI.
