Small samples and microcrystallography
With a focussed beam size from 20 μm x 20 μm to 5 μm x 5 μm at the Microdiffractometer beam station
(X06SA, PXI) or a beam diameter of 30 μm or 10 μm, depending on aperture (X10SA, PXII),
the study of microcrystals is feasible.
A further upgrade of X06SA using a secondary source and additional KB focussing will enhance the team's
capability in this field.

In-situ crystallography
Using a special setup of the automatic sample changer, studies of
crystals in situ (plate screening) are possible at X06DA (PXIII).

Development of beamline technology
At X06DA, a new and innovative, robotics-inspired goniometer (PRIGo) has been
installed and is in use for precise and optimum sample positioning.
The additional degrees of freedom facilitate the solving of difficult and
ambitious structures.
A new diffractometer end station (D3) has been designed and implemented at X10SA.
New CVD diamond beam profile monitors are being developed together with the PSI Syntronics group, and in collaboration with Dectris.

Spectroscopy
Currently, a spectroscopic setup at X10SA is possible, at
