Layout of the ADRESS beamline is shown below. The source is the fixed-gap UE44 undulator having a period of 44 mm. The front end baffles select the central cone of radiation. The optics consists of the collimating mirror, the monochromator embedding the pre-mirror and gratings, and the focussing mirror. Due to radiation safety these elements are enclosed in a hutch with led walls. The monochromator optics delivers stigmatic focus at the exit slit. The first refocusing mirror (RM1) refocuses the beam to the first SX-ARPES endstation and, when the RM1 is shifted away from the beam path, the second refocusing mirror (RM2) refocuses to the second RIXS endstation.
