Remote Desktop - NoMachine

The purpose of this service is to offer to PSI and external users convenient access to compute resources, in particular to the beamline consoles and the Ra offline data analysis cluster. The access is provided in form of full graphical user session via the NoMachine software. Users need a PSI_account to use the resources and can access only those, to which they are explicitly entitled

Data Transfer

This is a service to users that need to transfer (big) volumes of (experiment) data to their home institute / company / organisation. Data can be transferred by two methods, SSH (scp/rsync) and Globus.

Computer Cluster for Analysis of Data from SLS and SwissFEL Facilities

The vision is to create a virtual "data analysis center" which connects scientists with data, and domain experts, and the necessary infrastructure, called the Ra cluster. The data analysis center supports storage of huge data volumes, analysis of the experimental data directly after data taking as well as the subsequent offline analysis. Researchers can analyse their data both on site and remotely. This will result in more efficiently pursued scientific projects and reduces time to publications.

Merlin is a series of high-performance computing clusters provided by central PSI.

The SciCat Data Catalog

We enable scientist to catalogue their data safely for long-term, allowing the data to be annotated and published in agreement with the FAIR principles.

The SciLog Electronic Logbook

SciLog is an electronic lab notebook (ELN) developed and operated at PSI, which organises information captured during an experiment, both by humans and machines, as messages in a chat. It aims to replace paper notebooks often used during experiments, to jot unstructured information and to keep track of to-dos.
