COVID-19: Test obligation for external PSI users
Starting May 1, 2021 all external users of the PSI facilities SLS, SwissFEL, SINQ, SμS and CHRISP must present a certificate of a negative PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 according to Swiss BAG rules for air travel (i.e. currently with the date of the result being not older than 72 hrs when arriving at PSI, NO self-testing). The same rules will apply to external users of the Physical Properties of Materials user facilities.
“External” means: both not being affiliated to PSI and without a long-term or permanent PSI access badge. More details can be found here.
Several home-made developments have been possible thanks to collaborations with the Sample Environment Group of the Laboratory for Neutron und Muon Instrumentation, and the Mesoscopic Systems Group. We support also instrumental developments at the SINQ, such as a new 5-position sample changer for operation between 1.5K and RT at the powder neutron diffractometer DMC. This device, funded by the PSI interdivisional program CROSS, is the result of collaboration between the NUM and ENE divisions. It was commissioned and successfully tested in December 2018 and will be open to the SINQ user community after the restart of SINQ in 2020.
