The NEUTRA beamline consists of evacuated neutron flight-tubes looking through a 20mm diameter pinhole into the D2O SINQ moderator tank. Outside the SINQ shielding wall at position 1 an optional 320kV X-ray source can be moved into irradiaton position. The beamline has 3 measuring positions.
Pos | Main feature | Options | Maximum field of view |
1 | Sample irradiation by neutrons | 320kV X-ray tube (optional) | - |
2 | Combined neutron and X-ray measurements | Highly radioactive samples in shielded container NEURAP | 15 x 15 cm2 |
3 | Radiography / tomography of large samples | Vertical and horizontal scanning of samples | 30 x 30 cm2 |
