Activities

As a summer student, you will be embedded in a research group for the duration of at least seven and up to twelve weeks. You will actively participate in and contribute to the research at PSI, pursuing a research project together with one or more supervisor(s).

A lecture and activities programme is centrally organised for all summer students. It consists of introductory lectures of the main areas of research at PSI, typically followed by a tour of the experiments and laboratories.

For exchange with other summer students, a social programme consisting of a welcome event at the beginning of the lecture programme, a barbeque, and several get-togethers will take place.

2026 programme

The programme will be updated and extended further closer to the start of the programme.

Lectures will typically have a length of 45 minutes. Some of them will be followed by a visit of the laboratories. Coffee and Gipfeli will be served 30 minutes before the lectures unless indicated differently below. Most of the lectures take place on Wednesdays at 10:00. The kick-off/welcome event will take place on Thursday, 2nd July 2026, at 10:00.
