Bryan Benz was awarded the conference’s best oral presentation at the 50th International Micro and Nano Engineering Conference (MNE 2024) for his talk entitled “High aspect ratio (1:500) silicon nanowires for force sensing”. Bryan has just finished his first year of PhD study at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) in the group of X-ray Tomography, in collaboration with the University of Basel and the Swiss Nanoscience Institute, already achieving unexpected and exciting results using the new technique of MacEtch for high aspect ratio nanostructures in silicon, patented at PSI.
MNE has always been the leading international conference for micro- and nano-fabrication, manufacturing techniques, as well as applications of the fabricated micro/nanostructures, devices and microsystems into electronics, photonics, energy, environment, chemistry and life sciences. MNE 2024 was held on September 16-19 2024 in Montpellier, France.
"Congratulations Bryan, well deserved! This award rewards you for the long months of hard work in the clean room and may be a motivation to move forward towards your challenging goals!" greets Lucia Romano, who supervises Bryan.
