How to apply for CAMEA beamtime
CAMEA is optimised for an efficient and detailed mapping of excitations under extreme conditions. The instrument is configured to maximise the energy-resolved detection of in-plane scattered neutrons. Eight radially mounted units consist of eight analyser segments each, covering 60˚ of the horizontal scattering plane at final energies ranging from 3.2 to 5 meV. This allows to map a large (q, w)-area in a single acquisition scan, while being compatible with complex sample environments such as high pressure devises, cryomagnets and dilution refrigerators. CAMEA is located at a cold-neutron guide and is particularly suited to study low-energy excitations in the range between 0.12-10 meV energy transfer.
CAMEA proposals can be submitted trough duo.psi.ch, and the following document can help with an efficient planing of beam time. The planing tool is implemented in our dat treatment software MJOLNIR that can be downloaded here. Please do not hesitate to contact us if further questions arise.
