Bulk µSR Facilities Group

The Bulk µSR Group takes care of 5 µSR instruments making use of positive muons with impulses ranging from 28 to 110 MeV/c. In addition to the support of eternal users, the group is heavily involved with its own research. Recent achievments of the group are the design and construction of the High-Field Instrument, as well as the relocation of the DOLLY instrument in a permanent location.

Emergent Quantum Phenomena in Layered Materials (E-QuP)

Guguchia group undertakes an innovative and a systematic experimental approaches to construct, identify and characterize unconventional/topological magnetic, superconducting and charge ordered phases of quantum matter in prominent classes of layered materials. These new phases, when realized in experiments, have the potential to result in a range of applications from future electronics and spintronics devices all the way to quantum state manipulation and quantum computing in solid-state systems. Group employs powerful local magnetic probe such as muon spin rotation (μSR) complemented by magnetization, magnetotransport, neutron and X-ray diffraction techniques as well as DFT calculations. The powerful tuning parameters such as uniaxial stress, hydrostatic pressure, organic cation intercalation, particle irradiation and magnetic field are used.
