The SINQ Facility

SINQ is designed as a neutron source mainly for research with extracted beams of thermal and cold neutrons, but hosts also facilities for isotope production and neutron activation analysis. Based on the 50MHz ring cyclotron of PSI's High Intensity Proton Accelerator HIPA SINQ is a continuous spallation neutron source for all kind of applications.

Except for its different process of releasing the neutrons from matter, it resembles closely a medium flux research reactor for most of its users.

Further more detailed information is available on the homepage of the operation group.
