Air Pollution Sources Group

Understanding the physico-chemical processes in the polluted atmospheric boundary layer, from the sources to the receptors Energy use leads to emissions of nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds and particulate matter. Our group studies these processes, including photochemical transformation and meteorological transport from the tail pipe to remote areas. Our group is one of the leading groups in the world using the combination of measurements of chemical species in the gas and particulate phases with photochemical transport models and statistical source apportionment. Our main focus is to study the sources of aerosols based on their chemical composition and transformation.
