LNS has turned 40 years old on 1st October 2024
On 17th December 2024, LNS celebrated its 40th anniversary. On this occasion Christof Niedermayer, head of the Solid State Dynamics group, reflected on important events and milestones of LNS with a presentation at the end-of-year party. Other talks were given by the present laboratory head, Michel Kenzelmann, and the first laboratory head, Albert Furrer. Many present and former members of the laboratory were present for the party.
Over 25 years of DMC experiments
Shortly after, on 19th December 2024, Lukas Keller finished his last experiment on the neutron diffractometer DMC, which he looked after for more than 25 years. LNS thanks Lukas warmly for this achievement and the dedicated work for the instrument and SINQ users. Lukas will retire in the spring 2025.
