Research interests:
  • Formation and growth of matter on the nanoscale observed with intense extreme ultraviolet and X-ray pulses
  • Intense light-matter interaction, in particular nonlinear phenomena in the short-wavelength regime
  • Ultrafast light-driven dynamics in nanoscale particles 
Fields of expertise:
  • Time-resolved X-ray Coherent Diffractive Imaging of nanoscale structures and their ultrafast dynamics
  • Time-resolved experiments on atoms, molecules and clusters in the gas phase, combining imaging and spectroscopy approaches using intense pulses from short-wavelength Free-Electron Lasers and laser-based sources
  • Clusters, nanodroplets and nanoparticles

Motivation statement:I have served three terms (2017–2022) as the elected FLASH user representative at DESY in Hamburg, Germany. As a member of the JUSAP committee, I would be committed to representing the national and international SwissFEL user community. I would actively collect user feedback and experiences and communicate regularly and in a friendly and constructive manner with SwissFEL staff and management as well as PSI management to improve mutual understanding of needs and constraints, ensure effective and fair access for experienced and new users of the facility, and assist in resolving possible conflicts.
