The department Hotlab is the designated Swiss research centre for answering environmental material ageing questions in nuclear facilities.
AHL operates the Hotlab safely and efficiently and sees itself as an integral part of the NES and PSI. AHL is first and foremost a service provider for research as well as for industry.
AHL utilises the large PSI experimental facilities in a responsible manner and offers the Hotlab it operates itself to other interested parties as a user laboratory (Userlab).
AHL's broad expertise is supported by internationally recognised publications and is further developed through regular participation in research and service work.
