ACSM in Zurich

Duration: 2011-2012

Measurements of the non-refractory PM1 in Zurich during a whole year. An aerosol chemical speciation monitor (ACSM) is used to measure ammonium, nitrate, sulfate, and the organic mass. The organic mass spectra will be the basis for source apportionment studies for the the particulate organic mass during the whole year.
Preliminary time series of the non-refractory PM1 components in Zurich since January 2011
  • Zürich Kaserne, Switzerland, January 2011 - January 2012
  • The instrument is running very reliably nearly without interruption
  • Time resolution could be reduced from 30 minutes to 15 minutes
  • Calibrations are necessary around every month
  • A high nitrate fraction in winter and a high fraction of organic mass in summer is found
