"SynFuels" – Synthetic Fuels for Sustainable Mobility

Is sustainable flying possible? What processes make this transition happen? Will future fuels be completely emission-free? Researchers from the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) and Empa, who are working on key technologies for synthetic fuels, will present their latest findings and answer questions during the Energy Days. The “SynFuels” initiative, funded by the ETH Board, brings together PSI and Empa to explore the possibilities of synthetic fuels to make future aviation more sustainable.

📅 Date: October 18–20, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
📍 Location: Swiss Museum of Transport, Lucerne

We look forward to seeing you there! 😊

Together with partners from science, politics, and industry, the Swiss Museum of Transport offers fascinating insights into the world of energy during the Energy Days. Workshops, a storyteller for children, an escape room, and many other interactive activities invite visitors to engage deeply with topics related to energy and sustainability.

Special highlights include the new sustainability-themed area, developed in collaboration with Sustainable Switzerland, as well as the attractions "Sustainability Dialogue" and the "Emission Explorer," which was created together with ES4T. Here, you can test your CO₂ footprint and learn how you can actively contribute to a sustainable future.

ES4T is a joint initiative supported by the ETH Board. Under the title "Energy Science for Tomorrow" (ES4T), ETH Zurich, EPFL, Empa, PSI, and the Swiss Museum of Transport engage with the Swiss public in a dialogue to explore and discuss pathways to a sustainable energy future with the goal of achieving net zero.
