Topics
My PhD work is focused on the characterization of noble metal nanoparticles catalysts (Pd, Pt, Ru) supported on Al2O3 in the liquid phase, by means of in situ synchrotron X-Ray techniques (PXRD, PDF, XAS) and lab scale IR (transmission, ATR).
This project is an international collaboration bringing together University of Turin (Chemistry Department, prof. Elena Groppo), the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ID15A, Dr. Stefano Checchia), the Paul Scherrer Institut (ACS Group, Dr. Davide Ferri) and an industrial partner specialized in catalysts preparation and regeneration, Chimet S.p.A. (Catalysts Division, Dr. Riccardo Pellegrini).
I am proficient on automated (Python) data analysis for total scattering and absorption experiments.
I am currently perfecting a setup to run in situ experiments on supported metal nanoparticles pairing the requirements of absorption and total scattering techniques on a single cell.
