Biography
Larissa Boie holds a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich, where she built a table-top setup for tunable chirped mid-infrared laser pulses to be used in studying the structural dynamics of correlated systems. In addition, she worked at x-ray free electron lasers around the world to investigate correlations on the ultrafast timescale in a prototypical one-dimensional charge-density-wave material. She completed her M.Sc. in Germany at the Freie Universtität Berlin, which included stays at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Nairobi, Kenya and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.
At PSI, she works in the Strategic Focus Area Advanced Manufacturing (SFA-AM), studying the structural changes in glasses upon laser processing using x-ray diffraction methods.
Larissa Boie is a member of the German Physical Society (DPG) and the Swiss Society for Photon Science (SSPh).
