Biography
Tianyang Shen is a PhD student in the Quantum Photon Science group at the Paul Scherrer Institut. His current research focuses on quantum computing based on erbium-doped crystals using optical control. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in chemistry jointly from Nanjing Tech University and the University of Sheffield, and Master's in theoretical and computational chemistry from the University of Oxford. Then, he spent one year as research assistant at Institute of Physics, Chinese Academic of Sciences, where his work was on quantum manipulation in the diamond nitrogen-vacancy system.
