For the Soft-Matter Group in the Laboratory for Neutron Scattering and Imaging, Center for Neutron and Muon Sciences, we are looking for a

Soft-Matter Scientist for SANS, Tenure Track

Your tasks

  • User support on a small-angle neutron scattering instrument at SINQ
  • Operation and development of neutron scattering instrumentation
  • Ambitious own research program in soft matter and scientific collaboration with external user groups
  • Management of a sample preparation laboratory
  • Acquisition of external funding for science and instrumentation projects

Your profile

  • PhD degree in chemistry or physical chemistry or equivalent
  • Strong track record in the field of soft matter science
  • Expert for large-scale facilities experiments such as SANS/SAXS, or imaging techniques, and instrumentation
  • Experience with soft-matter characterization techniques (e.g., light scattering, rheology) is a plus
  • Experience with analysis of scattering and imaging data and related software development is a plus
