For the Radionuclide Development Group we are looking for an

Laser Scientist RILIS (Tenure Track)

Your tasks

  • Design and development of online mass separation for IMPACT/TATTOOS
  • Design and set up laser resonance ionization for TATTOOS and the proposed PROMAS offline mass separator facility and participate in preparing Technical Design Reports
  • Scientifically develop the optimum operation schemes of laser-induced resonance ionization for both facilities
  • Acquisition of research funding
  • Writing of scientific publications and reports
  • Attending and presenting at international conferences
  • A vital part of your duties will be networking and fostering collaboration to partner ISOL institutions, such as CERN-ISOLDE, INFN, SCK∙CEN and TRIUMF

Your profile

  • PhD degree in atomic physics or another related field
  • Experience in mass separation and laser-resonance ionization, as well as using the relevant simulation software
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary group
  • Excellent written and oral English, knowledge of German is an advantage
