Scientist (Tenure Track) for Battery Aging and Safety

Your tasks

  • Lead fundamental and applied research in rechargeable batteries with focus on aging mechanisms and processes, and battery safety
  • Development of novel methods and methodologies for materials, electrode, electrolyte, and their interphase characterization
  • Publishing research results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presenting at national and international conferences
  • Support group head in acquiring national and international funding and executing academic and industrial projects
  • Supervision of Master and PhD students, as well as postdocs
  • Planning, acquisition, deployment, and management of laboratory equipment and infrastructure
  • Assist group head in safety related tasks

Your profile

  • PhD degree in rechargeable batteries
  • Post-PhD experience in lithium and sodium batteries and electrochemistry
  • Experience in Online/Differential Electrochemical Mass Spectrometry (OEMS/DEMS)
  • Familiarity with other operando characterization methods, including at large-scale facilities
  • Excellent team player abilities and communication skills
  • Experience in student supervision and collaborative research
  • Excellent command in English and basic knowledge of German
