The Radiation Transport and Multiphysics group is responsible, among other tasks, for activity calculations for the High Intensity Proton Accelerator (HIPA) and the PROSCAN medical facility. Your tasks

  • Monte Carlo calculations of waste volume, nuclide inventory and dose rate for HIPA and PROSCAN
  • Sensitivity analysis and evaluation of material compositions
  • Develop and extend detailed Monte Carlo geometry models for several areas of HIPA and PROSCAN

Your profile

  • PhD degree in nuclear or particle physics, nuclear engineering or material science
  • Experience with radiation measurements at particle accelerators and in numerical simulation of radiation transport and induced activity in matter
  • You enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team and have very good oral and written communication skills in English, knowledge of German is beneficial
