L'Infrastructure suisse pour la physique des particules CHRISP

Avec l'aide du CHRISP, les chercheurs utilisent la source de neutrons ultra-froids la plus puissante du monde pour étudier la structure de notre univers. Ainsi ils déterminent les constantes fondamentales de la nature avec la plus grande précision et recherchent les écarts par rapport au modèle standard actuel de la physique des particules. Ils développent et testent également des détecteurs pour des expériences au PSI, pour des missions spatiales et pour le centre de recherche européen CERN à Genève.

High-resolution method for computed nano-tomography developed

A novel nano-tomography method developed by a team of researchers from the Technische Universität München (TUM), the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) and the ETH Zurich opens the door to computed tomography examinations of minute structures at nanometer resolutions. The new method makes possible, for example, three-dimensional internal imaging of fragile bone structures. The first nano-CT images generated with this procedure was published in the renowned journal Nature on September 23, 2010.
