Un upgrade de cette grande installation de recherche unique en Suisse est aujourd’hui planifié. La science, la technologie, l’ingénierie et le traitement des données ont en effet beaucoup progressé depuis. La SLS 2.0 (tel est le nom de ce projet de modernisation) va permettre l’avènement d’une recherche encore plus innovante, de meilleure qualité et plus approfondie. Par ailleurs, grâce à ce rééquipement, la SLS restera dans le peloton de tête en comparaison internationale avec les autres sources de lumière synchrotron. En décembre 2020, le Conseil fédéral rendra sa décision finale concernant le financement de l’upgrade SLS 2.0 Recherche sur le Covid-19 Le PSI a restreint son activité en raison de la pandémie de Covid-19. Mais en cette période extraordinaire, les chercheurs tiennent à apporter leur contribution à la société – au PSI et en collaboration avec d’autres centres de recherche et entreprises. Nous vous tenons informés des activités et projets actuellement en phase de démarrage ou de planification: par examples des analyses de tissus pulmonaires, production de protéines et d’anticorps, ou encore idées de recherche inédites sur le Covid-19.
