Your tasks
- Conducting X-ray ptychographic imaging experiments to achieve high-throughput high-resolution imaging of brain tissue. This may include, according to your interests:
- Adapting the LaMNI endstation for compatibility with a new high-speed detector system at SLS 2.0, ensuring robust and high-fidelity imaging
- Optimizing imaging strategies, including rational data acquisition approaches and high-sensitivity measurement techniques
- Prototyping data processing approaches
- Acquiring and analyzing a benchmark dataset of brain tissue, contributing to the broader goal of large-scale neuronal circuit reconstruction
- Engaging in beamline experiments, both for your research and in collaboration with other scientists, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge X-ray techniques
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, including experts in synchrotron instrumentation, neurobiology, and computational imaging
Your profile
- PhD degree in physics, biology, medical imaging, or a related field
- We encourage applications from researchers with experience in large-scale imaging techniques, even if they have not previously worked with ptychography, laminography, or synchrotron-based X-ray methods
- Hands-on experience with experimental techniques, such as X-ray or electron microscopy, or computational imaging, is advantageous
- Ability to work at the beamline, engage in experimental troubleshooting, and optimize data acquisition strategies
- Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and a collaborative mindset
